ATLANTA – September 19, 2011 – Vumii, a developer and manufacturer of high-quality, field-proven, zero-light surveillance camera technology, today introduced IP video encoding capabilities to its already cost-effective Sii AT line of uncooled thermal perimeter security cameras. This new feature provides customers with full video and camera control over IP networks using industry-compliant and bandwidth efficient H.264 encoding, eliminating the need to purchase a separate encoder for every camera.
Designed and certified to meet IEC and military standards for outdoor applications, the thermal over H.264 IP option, available on all Sii AT cameras, not only reduces the burden on network infrastructure and resources, but it also reduces the overall requirements for video storage and archiving. To make the installation of the product easier and more economical, this new version of Sii AT uses an 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) feed, eliminating the need to provide power to every camera location. For increased versatility Sii AT includes an analog video output as well as 24VAC or 11-25VDC power input options.
“With the option to use low-bandwidth IP video, Sii AT becomes an even more efficient and economical thermal imaging solution for unsurpassed outdoor perimeter protection,” said Randall Foster, CEO, Vumii. “Easy installation and a highly reliable, rugged design make this line of cameras an excellent choice for round-the-clock site surveillance including vehicular and human threats at up to 1,000 feet.”
Easily mounted on a pole or a wall, Sii AT IP provides strong coverage for perimeters as it uses a wide field of view and athermalized lenses which stay focused at all times. Sii AT IP is available in two models: an 8.5 mm lens for 65 degree field of view and a 19 mm lens for 28 degree field of view.
